Week of March 18, 2019

Our Bible story in 252 Kids this week was 1 TIMOTHY 4:12.
We learned that even when we are young we can make a difference.

SAY THIS TO CONTINUE THE CONVERSATION:
God made me to make a difference.

DO THIS TO CONTINUE THE CONVERSATION:
BED TIME
Read Luke 15:1-7. Who do you think the lost sheep in Jesus’ story is supposed to be? The lost sheep could be any one of us! No matter how “good” we are, we’ve all made mistakes. But no matter what you’ve done or how far you stray, God is always quick to find you. He will forgive anything the moment you ask. Pray that you will remember each day that God loves you so much—no matter how you feel or what you’ve done.

REMEMBER THIS:
“How you made me is amazing and wonderful. I praise you for that.
What you have done is wonderful. I know that very well.”
Psalm 139:14, NIrV

LIFE APP:
INDIVIDUALITY – Discovering who you are meant to be.

First Look Week of March 18, 2019

This week our weeones listened to Luke 12:7 and John 3:16 and learned that we are so important to God; He gave His only Son so we can be with Him forever.

God made me.

DO THIS TO REMIND YOU CHILD THAT GOD MADE THEM AND LOVES THEM:
CUDDLE TIME
Cuddle up wth your child this month and pray, “Dear God, thank you for making [child’s name] smart, creative, and helpful like You. I love being his/her mommy/daddy. Help me to trust that You love my little guy/girl even more than I do because You made him/her, and becaue of that I can totally trust Your plans for him/her! We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

REMEMBER THIS:
“I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
Psalm 139:14, NIV

BASIC TRUTH: GOD MADE ME.

Parent Cue Communication Week of March 18

It’s always amazed me that many of us have a tendency to communicate least graciously with the people who are closest to us. When you are in close quarters, small irritants often become large issues, and we end up speaking to our family in a way we would never communicate with anyone else. And who are we often most kind toward? Perfect strangers. Go figure.

Parent Cue Week of March 11, 2019

Ask your kid: “What’s one thing you love about the way God made you?” “Do you want to know what I love?” Share a few things you love about the way that God uniquely made them.

Week of March 4, 2019

We start the month by looking closely at Genesis 1:26-28. When God created people, He did
something special. He created them in His image and gave them the job of taking care of creation.

Bottom Line: God made me in His image. We hope to help kids understand that being made in the
image of God means we can love, show kindness, be creative, solve problems, and care for others all because we reflect and respond to God’s character.

First Look Week of March 4, 2019

This month, we will begin laying the foundation for some very important future conversations around the subject of sexual integrity. Before we ever talk with kids and teens about what to do and not do with their bodies, we need to start with who made their body and why that makes them so valuable.
And a great place to start is now, in the preschool years, with this simple but powerful truth—God made me. Preschoolers need to learn now that they are wonderfully made by God, in His image. This makes them very important and motivates them to respect themselves and others.

Our Bible Verse for week one:
PSALM 139:14
Every person is wonderfully made by God.

SAY THIS TO REMIND YOUR CHILD OF SUNDAY’S LESSON:
Who made you?
God made me.

DO THIS TO REMIND YOUR CHILD OF SUNDAY’S LESSON:
MORNING TIME
When you go into your child’s room this month, say, “Good morning! I see someone God made. It’s you! (Point to child.) God made you! And I am SO glad He did!”

REMEMBER THIS:
“I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
Psalm 139:14, NIV

BASIC TRUTH: GOD MADE ME.

Parent Cue – Helping Kids Come Alive!

As a dad, I want to do what all those supportive people did in my foundational years. I want to identify the things in my kids that they might not even see in themselves. I want to help them discover those things and then learn how to use them in constructive ways. What I really want to know is . . . what makes my kids come alive?

Week of February 25, 2019

We concluded our month on service with the story from Matthew 6:1-4 –
Encouraging us to give without receiving a reward or applause, to give in secret.

SAY THIS TO CONTINUE THE CONVERSATION:
Serve others without looking for applause.

DO THIS TO CONTINUE THE CONVERSATION:
DRIVE TIME
While driving tell your child to be on the lookout for ways we can serve. Is the park dirty? Let’s make a plan to clean it up! Pay for someone’s meal in the drive through. Talk about how you can help your teacher or a friend in school.

REMEMBER THIS:
“Jesus sat down and called for the 12 disciples to come to him.
Then he said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last.
They must be the servant of everyone.”
Mark 9:35, NIrV

LIFE APP:
SERVICE – Lending a hand to help someone else.
