KIDS MINISTRY AT FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN CHAMBERSBURG
We believe that faith is more than a program.
Faith grows in the morning when you wake your child.
Faith grows in the car on the way to school or on the way home from soccer practice.
Faith grows at the dinner table during conversation about the day.
Faith grows while tucking your child into sleep.
KIDS MINISTRY AND PARENTS WORKING TOGETHER MAKE A DYNAMIC DUO!
FUMC Children's Ministry connects children to friends and leaders in Godly community, ignites faith in God through prayer and Bible teaching, and allows children to shine the light of Christ by sharing their gifts and stories with others.
Worship services, Sunday school programs, Midweek programs, special events are all part of a specially designed strategy to partner with families to lead kids to become fully devoted followers of Christ.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN OUR CHILDREN'S MINISTRY ENVIRONMENTS ON SUNDAY MORNING:
Little Lights teaches these basic truths while kids make lasting friendships and build relationships with invested leaders:
God made Me.
God loves Me.
Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Our early childhood ministry is located on the first floor across the hall from the Sanctuary.
First Lights (Elementary & Preteens)
First Lights teaches these basic truths while kids make lasting friendships and build relationships with invested leaders:
I can trust God no matter what.
I need to make the wise choice.
I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Our elementary environment for children in kindergarten through 5th grade (First Lights) is located on the second floor.
Each week your child will experience a time of worship, teaching, and small group. Our leaders will encourage kids with rich and active small group experiences. They will learn from the Bible, make friends, pray for one another and participate in practical activities that reinforce the lesson for the week.
First United Methodist Church is dedicated to creating safe environments for children. Safe Sanctuaries means that all volunteers working with children have the required background checks according to PA State Law, have been active in our church for six months and have been trained appropriately so that we can provide physical and emotional safety as well as spiritual growth to the children entrusted to our care.
