KIDS MINISTRY AT FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN CHAMBERSBURG

Our Mission
FUMC Children's Ministry exists to connect children to friends and leaders in Godly community; to ignite faith in Christ through worship and small groups and to shine the light of Christ in the community by sharing their gifts and stories about Jesus.
Worship services, Sunday school programs, Midweek programs, Special events are all part of a specially designed strategy.
Our goal is to partner with families to lead kids to become fully devoted followers of Christ. We do that by including, equipping and encouraging parents and caregivers to be the #1 influence in the spiritual life of their children.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN OUR CHILDREN'S MINISTRY ENVIRONMENTS ON SUNDAY MORNING:

Little Lights teaches these basic truths while kids make lasting friendships and build relationships with invested leaders:
God made Me.
God loves Me.
Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Our early childhood ministry is located on the first floor across the hall from the Sanctuary.

First Lights teaches these basic truths while kids make lasting friendships and build relationships with invested leaders:
I can trust God no matter what.
I need to make the wise choice.
I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Our elementary environment for children in kindergarten through 5th grade (First Lights) is located on the second floor.

Each week your child will experience a time of worship, teaching, and small group. Our leaders will encourage kids with rich and active small group experiences. They will learn from the Bible, make friends, pray for one another and participate in practical activities that reinforce the lesson for the week.

First United Methodist Church is dedicated to creating safe environments for children. Safe Sanctuaries means that all volunteers working with children have the required background checks according to PA State Law, have been active in our church for six months and have been trained appropriately so that we can provide physical and emotional safety as well as spiritual growth to the children entrusted to our care.
