Parent Cue Week of August 12, 2019

What if instead of wanting obedience from your kids, we wanted obedience for your kids?

A shift in motivation takes the focus off the needs of the parent and places the focus back on best interests of the child.

After all, our kids grow up.

If you discipline with the motivation of wanting obedience for your child, you parent with the end in mind.

You realize that one day (soon) you’re not going to be there. Your control will be non-existent, and they’ll have to make all the decisions for themselves.

Parentcue.org offers a different perspective on obedience in this post. We all want well-behaved children. But what are your reasons? Is it for their sake or for yours? Is there a difference? Lots to think about here.

First Look Week of August 5, 2019

Mining for gold has been around ever since humans discovered that first glittering speck of rock. But, there’s something that is even better than gold. It’s the Bible! The Bible is better than gold! It teaches us that God loves us all the time. It teaches us that God loves us so much He gave us Jesus to be our friend forever. It teaches us how to live our best life. And, it teaches us how to share our stuff.

The teachings in the Bible are worth more to us—are more valuable in this life—than thousands of pieces of gold and silver. At the end of the day, learning how God, our Creator, wants us to live is worth way more than anything money can buy.

So grab a Bible, and get ready. We’re going on a treasure hunt! We want to begin to uncover some nuggets of truth and set our preschoolers on a lifelong search for treasure—the kind of treasure that is better than gold.

Parent Cue July 29, 2019 – A Checklist for a Successful School Year

It may be hard to believe, but summer is almost over! Maybe that fact makes you want to burst into tears—alarm clocks, homework, and bus stops. Or maybe it makes you want to throw a huge party—no kids saying, “I’m bored!” or begging to go to the pool. Probably for most of us, it’s a mixture of both.

Either way, we want to help make the transition as smooth as possible for you and your family! Below is a checklist you can use as a guide to prepare for the coming school year.
