Discipling our youngest church members to develop a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments. (Matthew 22:34-40 NIV).
In Early Childhood Ministry we help children understand who God made them to be and how Jesus can transform them. A child’s relationship with God, others, and themselves is life-changing—but only if they understand those relationships in a biblical context. So, in addition to showing children the importance of loving God, loving others and loving themselves, there are some core theological insights we want to make sure a preschooler doesn’t miss. We call these the three basic truths, and every lesson, story, and topic reenforces one of these truths:
God loves me.
God made me.
Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
