VBS IS JUST THE BEGINNING OF SUMMER ADVENTURES!
JOIN US AS WE SEEK GOD'S KINGDOM ALL SEASON LONG!
We know that as disciples of Jesus we can practice faith skills every day and one of those skills is to 'go' and tell others about Jesus.
To encourage kids and families to continue seeking God's kingdom after VBS this summer, First Church is facilitating 'Meetups' at local parks, homes, splashpads, and pools throughout the summer. The dates and locations are still in the process of being finalized but if you would like to host a meetup, we would love to hear from you!
The goal of the meetups is to bring the Word of God with us to places that are not church.
To go an extra mile would be to not only, bring your Bibles, but also open them, read the Word of God out loud, and talk about what you read as a family.
To go two extra miles would be to read the Word of God out loud and talk about what you read as a family and possibly intrigue and pull someone into the conversation that you don't know.
To go an extra three miles would be to come back to church on Sunday and share your experience with the congregation!
Jesus said,
“As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” John 20:21
Spreading His Gospel message and making disciples who make disciples is THE purpose Jesus has called all of us to—including our little ones. Just like with everything, it is never too early to start training them up. The earlier and more often children experience sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the more they will learn that sharing their faith is not intimidating or a 'chore'.
There’s nothing more exciting and rewarding in ministry (I even say parenting) than seeing kids reaching kids with the hope of Jesus! Kids can take the Gospel farther and faster than you or I ever can and as they mature into high schoolers, their circles of influence become even wider -at their schools, on their social media platforms, and in their families.
As parents and ministry leaders, we have the exciting privilege and awesome responsibility of helping them learn how to relationally share their faith with their friends just by doing the same summer activities we do regularly.
First Church is here to help your family be more intentional, and (maybe) more comfortable, supported, and equipped.

McKenzie Train Meetup(s)

Every First & Third Saturday in June, July, August | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Weather Permitting)
Where: Norlo Park
What: All aboard! You bring your Bible and together we will read a devotion about God's power and talk about how it relates to trains and then ride the train! Whoo! Hoo!

Gaga Ball Pit

What: You bring your Bible and some friends. I'll bring the ball and a fun but important verse to commit to memory from the Bible.
